Who we are...
The Bishop of Lincoln is pleased to announce that Her Majesty The Queen has approved the appointment of the Reverend Richard Crossland to the 0.8 post of Rector of the Benefice of Nettleham. In addition Richard will be 0.2 Diocesan Sacred Space Adviser.
The Reverend Richard Crossland is currently Assistant Curate NSM, Springline Parish and Owmby Group. He will remain as Rural Dean of Lawres.
The Archdeacon of Stow & Lindsey will preside at the service of institution and installation on Tuesday 8th July at 7.30pm at All Saints, Nettleham.
At All Saints we are lucky to have other lay and ordained ministers in the church, as below, and our services and other activities will all continue during the vacancy with help from them, members of our congregation and occasional visiting preachers.
Rev Richard Thornton
Richard Thornton was ordained a distinctive deacon in 2011 and is licensed to the benefice of Nettleham and Riseholme. He had previously held the posts of churchwarden, choirmaster and Reader. Richard was headteacher of Bishop King School for 18 years, a member of the Diocesan Board of Education and an inspector of RE and Collective Worship. He enjoys genealogical research, singing and conducting. He is married to Julie and has two children and four grandchildren.
Reader Jane Hanson
Jane is married to Cedric and has two children Laura and James. Formerly a (specialist) speech therapist in adult services within the NHS, Jane has completed a three year course at Lincoln University to train as a Reader within the Church of England. She was licensed as a Reader in October 2012 and is developing a teaching/preaching role within the Parish whilst continuing her studies at Lincoln University to obtain a degree in theology. Jane enjoys photography and walking (you will often see her walking her dog "Robbie" round the village).
The Churchwardens are the Bishop's officers in the parish, and are responsible for the building and the things in it. They are also in charge of the sides-people - those who meet and greet and hand out books and service sheets at the door - and are responsible for the finances of the church, especially in the absence of a Church Treasurer. Michael Smalley is our Churchwarden at All Saints.
The ministry team is a group of people licensed or authorised to assist the Priest in the mission and ministry of the church.
Jean Gledhill, Jane Hanson, Simon Hardy, Margaret Parker, Julie Thornton, Richard Thornton, Graham Wilson join with the clergy to form a ministry team here at All Saints.
